Cigarettes don't impair your motor skills. But it's hard to argue why booze is ok, but pot is not. Other than it may be easier to test for intoxication for booze. Not sure how you test for pot, to determine if you're impaired. I'm not pro-pot, but I think of all the money we spend, and the lives ruined, due to small time pot arrests. I'm sure in 10-20 years, pot will be legal, and kids will be stunned that we used to jail kids for having a joint on them. The rumor is that they were doing it before the game, though. Whether it's pot or alchohol and cigarettes, doing it before a game is not something you do if you intend on playing your best and winning. For most people anyway. There are many really good arguments about why pot should be legal, but this is not a legal issue. It's a team rules issue. You don't party before a game if you care about winning.
