    Just woke up, and checked this board hoping for an update. Am I still sleeping and am I having a nightmare? This route doesn't make any sense. We needed someone with head coaching experience. We cant afford another coach with training wheels who will undoubtedly hit a learning curve. We needed someone who could be successful right away. Mullen, the Troy coach, the Toledo coach,... would have been better choices. Verry dissapointed! Having said that I hope I am wrong and hope that he is successful here, but I doubt it. I have zero confidence right now in Kelly

    Kind of sucks that over the next few years we will be competing against these schools for future conference realignment. Another reason that this coaching hire is so important.

    So what's the latest on our OCS? Earlier in the year I saw lots of articles regarding it, but it has been crickets of late. Is that still 90-100 percent happening?

    What excited me the most about Deion Sanders would have been his recruitment power. Also the excitement and national attention it would have brought to to the program. I think it would have been fun, and that he would have been successful here.

    Yes, what I am seeing on television right now makes me doubt whether he is the right guy, but even if Coastal loses today he will still be 31 and 6 in his last 37 games. But yes the Coastal defense looks awful. still think he is not a bad option compared to others that have been mentioned.

    Our basketball team and football team are the worst it has ever been; we were left behind in conference realignment; a lot of silence lately regarding the OCS. If Kelly fails to get a good coach; I don't know by what metric that he is doing well right now. I will never understand the across the board contract extensions last year.

    This reminds me a little to 2014; when we struck out on bigger names for a new basketball coach and ended up settling on coach Antigua. Still don't know though and have to wait and see how it all transpires. Still hoping that we can at least get Chadwell

    Could it be Sumrall from Troy? He is another one coaching today. I hope not. One good year is not enough to convince me he is the guy for the job. Chadwell has done it over multiple years at Coastal.

    What he did to Temple was not classy. I would hardly call a 21-15 record at Miami successful. Maybe average at best. We need better then average to turn this USF program around!

    Manny Diaz would be a bad hire. His record at Miami was 21-15; lost 2 bowl games; in a weak ACC. Its harder to be successful at USF compared to Miami.

    this coaching hire needs to be a homerun ; so I don't agree with the sentiment of relax; we will get someone better then coach Scott. Almost any coach in the country would qualify as better then Scott. We need someone who can make us relevant again in quick time, and eventually get us into a better conference.

    If its someone coaching this weekend who could it be besides Chadwell? Any other ones to look out for?

    I picked the field. Entertaining but disappointing especially after for a moment earlier in the week I thought it really could have been Deion. I hate twitter. Still I hope its a coach with recent success ( Chadwell) over someone who was average at a big school ( Diaz, Mullen)

    Still think it has to be a coach that is coaching this weekend; otherwise I think it would have been announced, especially considering recruiting and the transfer portal. Only reason I still have a glimmer of hope for Deion Sanders, and if not; at least Chadwell.

    Are we talking about the same Dan Mullen that just went 5-6 at Florida, and almost lost against the worst USF team we have ever had? Need someone with winning momentum!

    A lot in the media about Chadwell possibly going to Liberty. If he was our second choice behind Deion Sanders; and we don't get him; that would be pretty embarrassing for Kelly. Unless Deion comes to USF; which I think to be unlikely.

    Mullen just was recently let go by the Gators after going 5-6. Don't see him as a good hire. I think we need a coach who has winning momentum. If not Deion then Chadwell!

    No to Diaz for me. Really didn't cut it at University of Miami going 21-15 in a fairly weak ACC, especially with all the Florida talent that was available to him. If not Deion then at least Chadwell
