  1. So who will be replacing Trickett as the OC? Did I miss it somewhere. Or will Golesh be the OC?
  2. Potential? sure. But it is a big ? Still need a quality RB through transfer portal. If we learned something about last year is that injuries happen, and you need multiple quality players in the same position.
  3. Oh yes I agree 100 percent; I think he is a good pick up. However with Batie leaving I still think Coach Golesh needs to find someone who could be our starting RB. Maybe someone in the Bohanon mold ( with that I mean a top RB who perhaps loses their position as a starter in spring training and want to go somewhere where they can start).
  4. Finally got mine a few months ago after two years of looking. Totally worth it. Ratchet and Clank and Horizon Forbiden West alone made it worth the buy.
  5. Yes I agree and hopefully this argument at the end of the season will be moot because he was able to scramble enough wins together. We are just two games into conference so its still early, and a lot of basketball still to be played, and hopefully Gregory is able to get it done.
  6. he doesn't lead team in assists ; I was wrong about that. I edited it in my last post
  7. I envy your patience. I hope Kelly disagrees with you. Don't we lose arguably our best player Tyler Harris who leads our team in points next year. So unless recruiting is going to get better I don't see why next year will be any different
  8. I believe in patience, but not extreme patience. With exception of 1 year Gregory has been less then mediocre; we have been at or near the the bottom of the conference most years. If he had been mediocre maybe I would be on board for another season. Tulane was at least middle of the pack most years. Furthermore the Fritz example is not verry common. I think in most cases a coach should get 3 years, except in cases where there is zero improvement after year 2. We have just wasted 9 years on Antigua and Gregory. If Gregory fails this year in my opinion he has to go.
  9. Fritz had Tulane in 3 bowl games before this year; winning 2. I don't think Gregory is a good comparison.
  10. In my opinion if we are below .500 again, and Kelly decides to keep him on after 6 years, then I might join Puc with his calls to sack Kelly. No other program who wants to be relevant would stand for this.
  11. I believe the 1100 yards is over 3 years. Last season he had less then 300 yard ( don't know maybe he was injured?). Still a good pick up, but with Battie leaving I am expecting more RB additions through the transfer portal
  12. I feel our program just wasted 9 years on Antigua and Gregory. Hope I am wrong, but I doubt Gregory will be able to get it done this year. Don't understand why Heath was fired at the time. While he was hot or cold he did have us competitive at times in the Big East ( one of the best conferences in the country) wining two NCAA tournament games. Also he had good class of recruits whom Antigua lost when he came in. Antigua was never able to recover. Kelly needs to bring in a big name coach that is able to recruit, and must be willing to invest the money. There is no reason that with the right coach we can't have a good program in basketball.
  13. I agree. While the new landscape with the NIL and the transfer portal will benefit the top programs in the nation; every other program and pretty much every team in the AAC will be in the same boat. In the short run we need to be competitive against Tulane, Memphis, FAU,...., not Alabama or Ohio State. There is no reason we can't be competitive in the AAC. What is worrying is that the rest of the AAC is not losing their best players to the transfer portal at the rate we are. Golesh will need to figure out how to built a team; or this year could be disastrous.
  14. One thing that as a program we do have total control of is the OCS. I expect our OCS to look much nicer then FAU's.
  15. Another example. FAU QB NKosi 2712 yards 25 td 5 int, McCammon RB 1004 yards rushing, Wester WR 719 yards None of them (as as far as I know based on basic research) in the transfer portal. What's going on at USF is not happening at other AAC programs at this time
  16. I doubt that Oregon and Washington will be in the PAC much longer.
  17. For one I am looking at other AAC programs to see if they are losing their best players at the same rate we are to the transfer portal. They are losing players, but not like we are. The first team I looked at is Tulsa because they were nearly as bad as we are. For example they have 2 wide receivers. One is Keylon Strokes who had 1224 yards and the other one is Santana with 859 yards. As far as I know neither are in the transfer portal at this time( but maybe I am not looking it up right; (dont know if their is a website site that has all the info organized?)
  18. yes, something changed or they would have entered the portal sooner just like Horn did.
  19. The question I am wondering: and I am not sure how to google it; so if anyone can answer it I will be thankful: Are other AAC teams experiencing the same thing where they are losing most of their top players to the transfer portal. We just lost our top 2 receivers, and our star running back. Is the same thing happening to FAU; for example. If so everyone in the AAC will be in the same boat, and it should not affect how we perform in the new AAC.
  20. Weaver and Battie happened over the last week, so I am sure that this will effect how many feel about our chances this year. However, the transfer portal and NIL will affect all AAC teams about the same. I haven't looked closely to other group of 5 teams. Are they losing all their top players as well? Still time to replace what we lost with the transfer portal. Either way I still expect a bowl game in year 2. Anything less I will see as failure.
  21. Yes I don't disagree. I was also referring to Lane Kiffin ( even though he was gone a soon as he could). My point was more regarding the FAU example as to whether it was possible for us to get a bigger name head coach with experience. At the same time I am in no way saying that Golesh can't be successful, and its true that the "more splashy hire" could fail, while Golesh could succeed. Time will tell, and we will know in a couple of years whether the FAU approach or our approach was the better way to go.
  22. I agree on Mike Kelly for the most part. However, I believe he deserves the chance to see if Golesh works out. It's only his second appointment for a football, and maybe he was just unlucky when it came to Scott. Many at the time saw Scott as a decent hire. Also lets see if Gregory can turn the corner this year, and if not who he hires as a replacement. in addition, its undeniable that Kelly has made headway when it comes to the OCS. Let's see what happens on that front. The one thing that I found hard to take last year though was the across the board contract extensions; it was demoralizing as a fan. If in two years we are in the same condition as we are now I will be the first to call for Kelly to get fired. just not there yet.
  23. I addition to Herman I was also referring to Lane Kiffin. Many other examples where smaller programs are able to get splash hires. However it is not my opinion hat Golesh cannot succeed at USF. He verry well could. I hope he does. Just a bigger risk in my opinion vs having gone with someone with more experience.
  24. Not arguing that Golesh can't succeed. He can! But if FAU is able to get splash hires, we should be able to as well.
