    Agreed that was a great ride however the fall was painful. Watching the team deteriorate to the point of being unwatchable made me humble and now I am just happy they have a team that is worth traveling to see. Even the way they finished the year, we have had about as good of off season as you could ask for, KB, scheduling, key transfers. The winds have shifted.

    Adding over 10k people a year and will eventually eclipse the Tampa population. However I am doing everything possible to keep the property values down simply by my sheer presence, and my advice is still to not drink the water.

    Who would have known that we did not arrive and were just passing through. Kind of feel like the High school kid that peaked as a junior, football star, homecoming king only to find himself later in his mid 30’s with a beer gut working at the local movie theater filling cups of popcorn. Even after coming off a 6 game losing streak I still feel like this is the year, I get the six pack back, better job and nail the homecoming queen again to get the magic back. Not sure if this train of thought is overly optimistic or just plain sad.

    Great photo of big Mike in his prime celebrating a last minute win against SMU, hope he will be ok. Not sure if he was smiling for the camera or at my daughter either way all good.

    Yep, I guess because we never win a conference championship in any of the two big sports then the best coping method is that it doesn’t matter anyways. Conference is not that bad but relegated to G5 obscurity, it is what it is.

    ok the AAC is straight A$$ G5 gutter trash of epic irrelevance however how can you get to a big bowl without winning the conference which is my only point. You can beat Wisconsin and GT by a combined 100-0 but won’t sniff a BCS bowl without winning the conference trinket. The AAC championship is not the end all and won’t matter to most however necessary to get this team back to being relevant.

    Screw the casual fan, we are not casual and would relish in it, if this is not the goal than what is the point of any of the games. Conference realignment would get us out of purgatory but is not happening anytime soon so focus on what is important, win a conference title and go to a good bowl game.

    I was in the negative points so I had to soften my approach, now that I am back to zero time to let my hair down. Your strategy is brilliant and I have used pieces of this strategy in the past however never memorialized it to use as a blueprint. I believe following this framework should raise my game a notch or two. Thanks for the insight.

    I am still learning the personality of the board, I had always thought it was a given we are internet losers and we could have a little edge in our opinions due to that fact. Everyone on this board is a diehard fan that would love to see Q in the NBA however some of us think he would benefit from another year. The point you made was valid and I will do better to keep my A$$hole tendencies in check.

    We need to be in a P5 and we are not. We need to make the best of our situation and we are, winning a conf championship is not going to solve our problems but without this goal what are we doing? I refuse to sit around and wait for a bs P5 conf to come knocking. Let’s win games and enjoy life and let the chips fall where they ma.

    He was a blip on the radar and had no part in the championship, he was a great talent that did not have the goods to play at the next level. I watch enough hoops to know Q does not have what it takes, great guy, fantastic player that will still earn a living however it will be overseas.

    Agreed, the alternative is Stony Brook, will take Bama, UF, Um and even Louisville all day long

    I say less than 0, love Q as well however his future is overseas. If D Jones could not make a career in the NBA than Q has no chance.

    Agreed, can’t control the conference thing and I just try to ignore it, life is too short to bother with things mostly outside of our control. Once we got a taste of the expensive wine Big East it has been hard to choke down the box wine known as the AAC but fortunately I like to drink and will soldier through.

    There are only a handful of teams that realistically have a chance at a National Championship in the power 5 anyways. Does anyone believe Purdue, Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Boston College, Pitt etc. will ever be in the playoff. It will be Bama, Clemson, Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, USC, FSU (w/o CWT.). UF, Washington and a handful of others that are big and rich. I love the recent scheduling and beating FSU, UM, Auburn etc is awesome but been there. I want a dam conference championship, many say it will mean nothing but that and a BCS bowl is really all that they play for and both of these would be big,

    Sun dome and practice fields were and you are correct. Is it too much to ask for a conference championship, somebody has to be to blame, skip, Woodard etc... easy to Monday morning Quarterback..,,just bitter I have spent the past 29 yrs rooting for a team with not one conf championship.

    He had the biggest a$$ and single handily won the UM game in 2008. The goal line stance he had with his submarine maneuver kept Miami out of the end zone on a 1st and goal from the one. Over a 3 game period USF beat Miami, Clemson and opened the next year with a win against the Irish. Wow life was good before the wheels came off the bus.

    She upgraded academics and research status to a level that many did not think was possible and I commend her for this. UCF took all comers and is a joke. I also agree that no matter who we had we were lucky to land the big east and were destined to land back where we probably always belonged after the realignment. My big beef is that we could have used our good fortune in the mid 2000’s and built some facilities to keep our sports program relevant, she was asleep at the wheel and never really understood the importance of a strong athletic program.

    I can’t argue, maybe it would go a long way in satisfying me, I don’t think we have won a conference championship in FB or hoops since the 89-90 sunbelt conference championship with Hakim Shahid, too Effing long.

    I would agree we can bring back fans and what Kelly has done recently is fantastic and will help tremendously. I am by no means throwing in the towel however to get back to a 2007 type season while regulated to purgatory in the G5 is unlikely. The difference in money will make it more and more difficult as each year passes. We need a conference championship and a BCS bowl badly, if we can do this it will go a long way in getting butts back in the seats.

    Yep, I went to Brandon high back in the day and we had as many students as Tulsa with only 3300 students. The Stadium is ancient, kind of cool peeing in the troughs, felt like I was in an episode of Mad Men. Old private school with plenty of oil money, can still attract players from Dallas, OKC, local, Houston and San Antonio/Austin that the bigs ignore. There university has more of a sunbelt feel, but they do get more out of less than most.

    100 percent accurate, the fans in Tulsa and Dallas don’t want to see them either. There are more people that go to a local high school game here than went to either USF vs. Tulsa and USF vs. SMU over the past two years. The stadiums are old, the few fans are apathetic. I told my wife we are going to the Texas game next year and the Bama and Florida games in the future. Having traveled with me to many road games in the past, she then stated, I did not know USF was in the same league as them. I did not have a comeback.

    Very nice, the dump is my most important activity as well most days. Stay away from the early bird, you will be in bed before dark. Thanks for the info, getting Bama at home is big. Mike Kelly is earning his salary, impressive get.
