As a guy who works in events on campus I'll reiterate, events on campus don't schedule around football games. Student organizations, outside events and even public performances still carry on regardless what the football schedule is; even if the times and dates are set long in advance (and not the games that are flexed the week prior.) These events can involve students, faculty staff and locals. It's a wash to guess if they would otherwise attend the game, but not having games on campus means campus is open for other events with competing times.
