  1. It’s better to have loved then lost, then to never have loved at all...
  2. If a bear ****s in the woods and nobody is there to smell it...do we really care? Not trying to be a smart ass (well I kinda am) but does this really do ANYTHING to get the AAC an invite to the playoff party? If not, why bother? It’s a tiny school in a tiny state that isn’t close to other conference mates (except Wichita State for basketball). Hooray, the American can officially be crowned the tallest dwarf.
  3. I’m a little bit younger than you, as I graduated in ‘01, but my Dad knew Coach Price really well (think they played together at Dixie if I remember correctly) so I knew all about Hale being an absolute beast before heading to FSU. And you guys definitely had the talent to win state, as I’m sure you played Bogie and Lakewood tough and they were always making deep runs (think Bogie won it in ‘94 with NFL’er Darren Howard and a young David Ross). I had to contend against Erroyl Bing, who ended up going to ECU, and let’s just say I preferred playing against him with my former teammates by my side as he lit us up. ...that was 20 years ago now, I’m getting old!!!
  4. Nice...small world. And yeah, I was on the JV squad at Bogie and an instant starter on Varsity at Seminole - coincidentally, under Coach Killalea and with his son, John. And did you play for Coach Price at Largo with Ron Hale?
  5. Very cool, what year and for what coach? I never played AAU b-ball (was my second sport behind baseball), but I did play basketball for two years at Boca Ciega before transferring to Seminole for my last two years.
  6. DoJo played three years in the BEast (arguably the BEST b-ball conference at that time) and finished 59th all time in overall scoring - ahead of Kemba Walker and not too far behind Ray Allen. I can’t argue for CB as I never saw him play live, but DJ was the team and gets my vote.
  7. Breaking news: found footage of Frisco on the dance floor.
  8. Congrats Thor!!! Although you’re going down when you play my Seminole Warhawks!!! Class of ‘01
  9. Same here. And I DEFINITELY got fooled when I went up to Chicago and saw us beat Notre Dame to start the year. Boy did that all go down hill quickly!
  10. Wow, really? That’s a massive upgrade for the Noles. That roster has some pretty good talent on it and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Milton lead them to 8-10 wins next year ala King at UM. If xCWT had Milton (and Leavitt decided to be DC), he’d still be there and they’d be challenging Clemson for the title.
  11. This year was definitely an anomaly (fingers crossed) and very hard to judge due to obvious issues mentioned previously. That said, IMO, I’m not very impressed by the direction of this program. I’m never a fan of addition by subtraction (it’s literally factually incorrect) and when I see so much attrition on a team it speaks to their being major issues. Texas still hasn’t recovered from CCS doing it there, and hell, we aren’t Texas. My major fear is other players (transfers/recruits) see this attrition and attribute this to an unfair staff/over-harsh discipline/bad talent evaluation and don’t want to be a part of this program. Sometimes you have to make chicken salad out of chicken **** in order to keep things moving and find ways to make your existing talent thrive (Gulf Coast Offense anyone?) and the rebuild comes more organically. Once the momentum starts, then you can start to pick up some key pieces (4* guys want to come) and then it’s a matter of keeping the ball rolling - which is was easier to do than starting to roll the boulder in the first place. TL;DR, the verdict is still out on CJS, but I’m not sold on his style and am not convinced he can be flexible enough to put guys in the right spots to be successful.
  12. Wilson definitely gets the blame, but ultimately one play doesn’t decide a game. And yes, that boot from the LSU kicker was **** impressive. Looked like it was good from 65 and dead center. And if I’m being 100% honest, I NEVER feel bad when the gators lose...
  13. Agree 100%. Any and all USF fans are welcome! I mean, do you really think all those toothless hillbillies that root for Florida went to UF or that the Cuban-link wearing wannabe gangsters went to The U?! Which gets me thinking, who’d be our bandwagon fans? Think we could get the strippers - I mean exotic performance artists, from Mons or would we be stuck with all of the South Tampa Karen’s?
  14. I think you have to work JB in there as well. He’s our only real 3-pt threat and is needed to stretch the D to open up the driving lanes and the interior.
  15. Murphy is definitely going to continue to develop and has a ton of upside, but you’re right, as of now, Castaneda is option 1.
  16. The problem there is I’m not convinced Castaneda is starting PG material. He’s been a serviceable #2 PG option, but really needs to take the next step in order for him and this team to be successful. I’d almost be tempted to let DC run point as the offense usually runs through him anyway, but he’s certainly turnover prone so that has its limitations too.
