Below is the minutes USF played while behind, while tied or while leading their games this season. Opponent Time Behind Time Tied Time Ahead W. CAROLINA 31 MIN 02 SEC 9 MIN 01 SEC 19 MIN 57 SEC MARYLAND 21 MIN 34 SEC 20 MIN 48 SEC 17 MIN 38 SEC NC STATE 46 MIN 42 SEC 13 MIN 18 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC UCONN 0 MIN 0 SEC 3 MIN 38 SEC 56 MIN 22 SEC @ WI 25 MIN 43 SEC 28 MIN 20 SEC 5 MIN 57 SEC ECU 11 MIN 42 SEC 14 MIN 07 SEC 34 MIN 11 SEC @ TULSA 46 MIN 50 SEC 6 MIN 57 SEC 6 MIN 13 SEC @ CINCY 57 MIN 05 SEC 2 MIN 55 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC HOUSTON 47 MIN 54 SEC 12 MIN 06 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC @ SMU 43 MIN 07 SEC 16 MIN 49 SEC 0 MIN 4 SEC @ MEMPHIS 49 MIN 29 SEC 7 MIN 23 SEC 3 MIN 8 SEC UCF 40 MIN 38 SEC 19 MIN 22 SEC 0 MIN 0 SEC SEASON TOTAL 421 MIN 46 SEC 154 MIN 44 SEC 143 MIN 30 SEC LAST 6 GAMES 285 MIN 03 SEC 65 MIN 32 SEC 9 MIN 25 SEC In the last 6 games USF had the lead for 9 minutes and 25 seconds out of a possible 360 minutes despite playing Tulsa, Cincinnati, Houston, SMU, Memphis and UCF. Do you think CWT lost his team in the second half of the season? They certainly didn't improve as the year went on.

It was all about the second half.

My theory is that those better teams treated us the way we treat an FAMU. I am willing to bet that Maryland, Wisconsin and ECU spent minimal time preparing for us and mentally the teams didn't get up for us. Once those teams woke up and made adjustments they all basically shut us down. On the other hand, once we started to play conference games or teams of similar quality they prepared and came out strong. I am willing to bet that if we played UCONN later in the year they would have beaten us. Diaco is a smarter coach. We also got lucky with their QB situation that game. We were closer to being a 1 win team this year than we were to being a bowl eligible team. Thank god for Marlon Mack in game 1. Maybe even closer to 0 wins without his breakout debut.
