In 2001, while trawling for football talent on the University of South Florida’s website, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers turned up a prospect they’d never scouted, or even heard of. And the closer they looked at Tom Wagner, the better they liked him  technically sound stopper, great vision and reactions, as good against the pass as against the run. The fact that Wagner was a photographer, not a cornerback, in no way discouraged the Bucs owners from “drafting†him out of USF, where he’d run the photo department, to run theirs.
