Apparently he is a major target by USF along with Cassell or a backup plan in case we cannot get Cassell Jr. Of course he could be Rudd's replacement to.

Suppose to be visiting this weekend but I'm not 100% on that. We will have to dig a little deeper.

The son of now former Central Coach Andre Applewhite who stepped down recently.

Applewhite lists USF, Tennessee, Clemson, Tulane, Missouri State, UT-Martin, and Memphis; he will take all 5 visits before deciding. He reportedly has offers from Missouri and Auburn as well.

He played against very good competition in HS and is physically ready to step in and play in the BE.

This is an old video of him and not a good judge of his skills, but we see who the young man is that might be a future Bull.

Andre Applewhite, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from Central High School in Memphis, Tenn., also made an on-campus visit.

Applewhite said he’s also looking at South Florida, Mississippi State, Tulane, and Arkansas State, but didn’t have any visits scheduled yet.

A source told the Herald that neither Bradley nor Applewhite had been offered scholarships as of Saturday.

Andre Applewhite, a 6-foot-4 guard from Memphis, Tenn., was one of a few visitors on WKU’s campus this weekend.

The senior averaged 24 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and 2.5 steals a game in his final season for Central High School.

“I really enjoyed getting to know both the coaches and players,†Applewhite said. “And the campus was really clean — it was great.â€

Applewhite is still deciding between several schools, including Tennessee, South Carolina, South Florida, Mississippi State, Missouri State and Tennesee-Martin, with every school except Mississippi State already offering scholarships.

Applewhite said he doesn’t have a timetable set for his final decision, but the biggest factor in his final decision will be having a good feel for the coaches, players and fans at the school.

“I want to go somewhere where I can compete for a national championship,†he said.

Going by that it might come down between Tenn and USF if he takes all of his visits.
