Gus Mustakas

Larry Blustein has a column in today's Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel. He says Shane McElwain and Gus Mustakas have committed to USF. Blustein says Mustakas is a defensive lineman from Chaminade-Madonna High School in Hollywood, FL. Has anyone heard of Gus Mustakas? Do you know anything about him?

I saw that this morning and was scratching my head.

Maybe when he wrote that Gus had told him he was going to USF, but he ultimately decided on Pitt and that seems to be solid.

Mustakas had visited USF this past wekend. Then on Monday, from what I understand, he got a home visit from the Pitt head coach and decided to go with them instead.

Mustakas is a Pitt committ and that just happened within the last week so I highly doubt that changed already...

If i remember correctly, Blustein also reported that Demetrius McCray comitted to USF when in fact he did not

No, that was Buchalter. He probably got his info from McCray's Coach as he was doing a piece on Armwood's players and where they were heading.

Actually, Larry Blustein's LIST of Florida recruits is very much up to date. He had Gus as a Pitt recruit on there yesterday, and that's why I was scratching my head this morning.
