this is surprising to me:

"I also got offers from Florida and South Carolina. I haven't played football in two years so that surprised me, but I verbally committed to South Florida."

This guy better be the real deal.  Leavitt may of said that he will let this guy play both.  His play better stay up to par or he will not make it.  I heard of this guy before and he can PLAY...

I think he will only "count" as a football schollie, much like Ingram at UF. The worst that can happen is that he will be a BB walk-on and get some minutes. Who knows, he may end up being a two sport star.

I noticed that too (rivals).  ???

They didn't have Benzer either, until he committed to us.  Probably researching him now.

Apparantly he has

Jackson says he's gotten the approval of USF head football coach Jim Leavitt and head basketball coach Robert McCullum to play both sports.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
