Always interesting for these C-USA teams to actually see where they are. They put up great numbers sure....against who though?

So then, USF got to actually see were they when they played BCS (NCSt & Oregon) teams in bowl games.

Yep that is about right.....that 05' team was basically a CUSA team.

The 07' team was all around outcoached so I don't think you could say Oregon just had all around better talent which is usually the case in these CUSA v BCS team matchups.

oregon had way more talent then us at that time. They were #2 in the nation that year until dixon got hurt. Coaching had alot to do with it but they were way more talented.

In 2005 USF was 4-3 in the BEast; In 2007 USF was 4-3 in the BEast, so were the Bulls still "basically a CUSA team" in 2007? How about in 2008 (2-5), 2009 (3-4), and 2010 (3-4)??  Oregon was by far the more talented team both on paper, and on the field in 2007.

BTW, USF accepted their invitation to join the BEast in November 2003, and use it as a tool to recruit better players long before setting foot on the field at the 2005 Muffler Bowl.
