He's Cookin'

by Allen Wallace of Scout.com, January 6, 2005 at 2:15pm ET

Carlton Hill Profile

Florida quarterback Carlton Hill (6-4, 212, 4.6, Scout.com's #26 QB, 3 stars) now says South Florida leads solidly over Miami and Ole Miss.

"I'm pretty much solid with South Florida right now," says Hill, from Monticello Jefferson County.

"I'm just waiting on my visit with them. What I like about their program is how they're not caught up with all the big school hype like Miami and Florida's programs.

"And they're moving to the Big East next year. That's basically what I like about them the most.

"The thing that I like about Miami is how they're like one big family. I also like the atmosphere there. It definitely gets your adrenaline going.

"In the end I'm going to make a really good decision on where I want to go.

"As far as football is concerned I just want to fit in with a good offense. And as far as academics go, I'm looking for a school that has my major. I want to major in culinary arts.

"North Carolina St (10/22 official trip) and Purdue (1/15) are out of it. I'm no longer into them.

Hill will officially visit South Florida (1/14), Ole Miss (1/21) and Miami (1/28).

Final SR (6-6) stats: 144/268 passing/1,764 total yds/20 TDs/8 INTs; 145 yds rush/1,191 yds/12 TDs

Thanks for the info Cyg...

anyone know if we have a good culinary arts program?  I thought the st pete campus did... but i have no idea about the tampa campus.  If it does, maybe i'll take some classes with Carlton.

Well, I do know that one recruit said this year that USF has the best FOOD of all the schools he's visited.  ;D

So, at least we will feed Carlton well when he comes to visit.

i wouldn't want it as my main degree, but i do enjoy eating and cooking... i could see myself doing it down the road after i get bored with programming.

Maybe Carlton thinks he can get a degree in food TASTING, rather than food COOKING.  ;D

Hey, somebody's gotta do it.

Of course, maybe he thinks "culinary arts" is pictures of food.  ;D

in scanning USF, UCF, FSU, UF, and UM degree programs the closest I could find to culinary arts was restaraunt/hospitality management from our favorite mouseketeers or like a nutrition degree

USF offers a similar degree on its Sarasota campus. Maybe he plans on commuting from there.

Tampa does have some top notch culinary arts schools, just apparently not USF... Could he dual enroll?  or perhaps he could get his AA first at USF?

I'm sure there is something he can do.
