Found this link. Overall 2003 class grad rate 4 yrs: 24.3%, 5 yrs: 42.7%, 6yrs: 49.2%. All stats are relative. Are the overall grad rates used as a baseline? So with Football at 46% they are pretty much on par with the overall student body.

Don't know what that says aboout our student body  :-[

It means we have a long way to go.

However, admissions have really only been tightening up the last 2 or 3 years so those students haven't had a chance to impact those numbers. Hopefully those rates will be much higher in the next couple of years once a couple more graduating classes pass through.

I saw a football player trade a Mac Book Pro to my next door neighbor for a tattoo...no joke

Well, that will be a problem for him because they are required to turn the computer back in at the end of the semester. The players don't own the computers.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
