A friend and I are thinking about throwing a couple old beach cruisers in the back of his pickup and getting to the parking figuring we will be about 1-2 miles from the stadium by the time we get there. Our plan is to bike to the venue, lock the bikes up and then ride the bikes back to the car.

Is there bike parking near the stadium?

Also, what time does everyone plan to get to the area?

Thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

I believer there are some racks on Gale Lemerand Drive which runs parallel to the stadium and perpendicular to University Ave.  There should be racks across the street at the O Dome as well.  Should be plenty of places to park in that general vicinity.  Hope this helps.

There are lots of bike racks at Weil Hall across the street from the south endzone and bike parking in front of the old Florida Gym along the east side of the stadium.

Both should be pretty close to the main visitor's section.

Thanks! So another quick question--does it help to cut up through Micanopy and come into town via SE Hawthorn Road (aka 20)? I used to live off Tower road but didnt drive around town on game day much.

The main roads aren't too bad on the way to the game assuming you aren't trying to get there within an hour of kickoff. Most of the traffic is post game when everyone is trying to get to I-75.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”
