Anyone who still thinks a team like Texas should move out of their own region to play in a conference like the Big Ten should read this article. This is a great example of a team going outside of their region to pursue more money, but has instead alienated their entire fanbase by giving them a schedule no one cares about. Everyone outside of Boston made the assumption that BC fans would care about "marquee" matchups against Duke, NC, etc. Well, they don't. Neither of those teams carry the national appeal that people assume, especially in a town with a proud sports history such as Boston. Local rivalries are far more important than contrived "marquee" matchups. I believe Texas fans would care the same way about playing OSU, Michigan, Penn State, etc. at home. It would be neat for a couple of years, but people would lose interest pretty quickly.
