A blurb about Skip's "so so" start at ECU that I copied off of wikipedia:Holland brought in Skip Holtz to become the Pirates nineteenth head coach. During his first year, Coach Holtz helped turn the team around by winning five games, winning two more games than the entire Thompson era. His first win came during the season opener against Duke. During his second year, he won seven games, making East Carolina bowl-eligible for the first time since the 2001 season.
