Four freshmen give Bulls some needed depth

The strength of USF is a core of senior leaders, veterans and proven performers that includes QB Matt Grothe and DE George Selvie.

But if the Bulls can go from a good team to something more, it might be because of a core of freshmen who have made a splash during preseason practice.

In RB Lindsey Lamar, CB Kayvon Webster, R Sterling Griffin and LB Sam Barrington, the Bulls have a quartet of precocious playmakers.

"We'll probably have more depth throughout the team than we've had in a while, but it's young," Coach Jim Leavitt said. "They're very young, and they're making young mistakes."

The depth chart released Sunday lists Webster and Griffin as starters.

We've got the chart posted here.  Here's to seeing Webster and Griffin starting, but also a toast to seeing Lamar and Barrington getting in there too!
