Jason Tyner has had a very strange career in baseball.  The strangest thing, however, just occurred recently.  He was traded from the Milwaukee Brewers to the Detroit Tigers for nothing.  Thats right, nothing was sent back in return, not even a promise to pay in the future.

Wonder how that would make him feel?  Your old team doesn't want you so badly they didn't even get anything for you or even bother to give you a release.  Man, Simms was treated like a God in comparison.

if they released him they would still have to pay him.  by trading him they are off the hook completely.  actually happens more than you would probably think.

some of those "for a player to be named later" end up that way.  a friend of mine got traded for a player to be named later and one was never named.  of course this was at the AA level but it happens.
