I just watched part of Dr. Amen's "infomercial", actually a fundraiser for WUSF.  I don't see why this is allowed on public TV, as Dr. Amin's expensive clinics and self help books are unproven and controversial.  His promotion of herbs and his SPECT scans, which many physicians say are useless, should not be shown on a public supported station. Fundraiser or not, its just an advertisement for his literature and "treatments" at Amen Clinics, inc.  Here's what Skeptimedia has to say about his methods: http://skepdic.com/skeptimedia/skeptimedia30.html

I see also that Dr. Wayne Dyer is hawking his distortions of Taoism books on WEDU.  What's next? Will we have Scientology promotions on Public TV?
