MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Two West Virginia football players facing battery charges have been indefinitely suspended from the team.

Coach Bill Stewart announced Thursday night the suspensions of 21-year-old running back Maxwell Anderson and 21-year-old special teams holder Jeremy Kash.

Stewart said in a news release that he had no further comment.

Anderson is a junior and Kash is a redshirt sophomore.

Morgantown Police Sgt. Harold Sperringer has said both players were charged with misdemeanor battery after an Oct. 25 fight at a Morgantown bar.

Neither had an attorney when arrested, according to Morgantown Municipal Court.

Anderson and Kash are scheduled to be arraigned on Dec. 3.
