Will Rays finish on top of the AL East? Will the win the wild card? Can they miss the playoffs all together? Ask a Met fan how possible that is.I hope they take the AL EAST! And the Sox and Yanks sit home all fall. September is where races get intense and you are battle tested for the playoffs and losing 2 straight to the Yanks isnt a good start. Here is the remaining schedule, no cupcakes besides the Orioles.Thu, Sep 4 NY Yankees 7:10 PM Kazmir (10-6) Rasner (5-9) Tickets Fri, Sep 5 @ Toronto 7:07 PM Sonnanstine (13-6) Halladay (17-9) Tickets Sat, Sep 6 @ Toronto 1:07 PM Shields (12-8) Marcum (8-6) Tickets Sun, Sep 7 @ Toronto 1:07 PM Garza (11-8) Purcey (2-5) Tickets Mon, Sep 8 @ Boston 7:05 PM Jackson (11-9) Lester (13-5) Tickets Tue, Sep 9 @ Boston 7:05 PM Kazmir (10-6) Matsuzaka (16-2) Tickets Wed, Sep 10 @ Boston 7:05 PM Tickets Fri, Sep 12 @ NY Yankees 7:05 PM Tickets Sat, Sep 13 @ NY Yankees 1:05 PM Tickets Sun, Sep 14 @ NY Yankees 1:05 PM Tickets Mon, Sep 15 Boston 7:10 PM Tickets Tue, Sep 16 Boston 7:10 PM Tickets Wed, Sep 17 Boston 7:10 PM Tickets Thu, Sep 18 Minnesota 7:10 PM Tickets Fri, Sep 19 Minnesota 7:10 PM Tickets Sat, Sep 20 Minnesota 3:55 PM FOX Tickets Sun, Sep 21 Minnesota 1:40 PM Tickets Mon, Sep 22 @ Baltimore 7:05 PM Tickets Tue, Sep 23 @ Baltimore 5:05 PM Tickets Tue, Sep 23 @ Baltimore 9:05 PM Tickets Wed, Sep 24 @ Baltimore 7:05 PM Tickets Thu, Sep 25 @ Detroit 1:05 PM Tickets Fri, Sep 26 @ Detroit 7:05 PM Tickets Sat, Sep 27 @ Detroit 7:05 PM Tickets Sun, Sep 28 @ Detroit 1:05 PM Tickets

This team was looking good with their schedule so far, and playing all these home games but september had too many road games for them to hold on. What a waste. Looking at the standings: Rays 85-53 24 games remainingTwins 77-63 22 games remaining (9 games back)Yanks 75-65 22 games remaining (11 games back)The Yanks are completely done. Even if they pulled off a Rockies like ending (not going to happen) finishing 20-2, the Rays would only need to go 11-13 down the stretch to hold them off. Being more realistic, say they still get hot and go 17-5 down the stretch (still not going to happen), the Rays would only need to go 8-16 down the stretch to hold them off. Write it down, the Yanks are cooked. The Twins are similar. Worst case scenario, they go 22-0 down the stretch, then they would have swept the White Sox, and the best the White Sox could finish would be 20-3. The Rays would have to go 14-10 down the stretch to hold them off. Again, your talking about 2 teams nearly going undefeated down the stretch. Not gonna happen. Now the Rays may end up losing the East to the Red Sox, but thats about worst case scenario. As it stands now, the Rays are the BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL, and are fighting for the top seed in the AL.
