With very important series coming up.  Will Rays finish on top of the AL East?

Will the win the wild card?

Can they miss the playoffs all together?  Ask a Met fan how possible that is.

I hope they take the AL EAST! And the Sox and Yanks sit home all fall.

September is where races get intense and you are battle tested for the playoffs and losing 2 straight to the Yanks isnt a good start.

Here is the remaining schedule, no cupcakes besides the Orioles.

Ouch...  rough schedule... other than Baltimore and detroit to end it... that might be just what the doctor ordered.

That's what I've been saying the whole year.  This team was looking good with their schedule so far, and playing all these home games but september had too many road games for them to hold on.  What a waste.

Not to beat a dead horse for the math challenged here, but the Rays are in the playoffs no matter what debbie downer wants to keep spouting.  Looking at the standings:

Rays  85-53  24 games remaining

Twins 77-63  22 games remaining (9 games back)

Yanks 75-65  22 games remaining (11 games back)

The Yanks are completely done.  Even if they pulled off a Rockies like ending (not going to happen) finishing 20-2,  the Rays would only need to go 11-13 down the stretch to hold them off.  Being more realistic, say they still get hot and go 17-5 down the stretch (still not going to happen), the Rays would only need to go 8-16 down the stretch to hold them off.  Write it down, the Yanks are cooked.

The Twins are similar.  Worst case scenario, they go 22-0 down the stretch, then they would have swept the White Sox, and the best the White Sox could finish would be 20-3.  The Rays would have to go 14-10 down the stretch to hold them off.  Again, your talking about 2 teams nearly going undefeated down the stretch.  Not gonna happen.

Now the Rays may end up losing the East to the Red Sox, but thats about worst case scenario.  As it stands now, the Rays are the BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL, and are fighting for the top seed in the AL.

Yep, rays are an absolute lock short of losing every game the rest of the year, which ain't gonna happen!

“In my mind, I’m kind of like, ‘OK, excuses over'. We know what we need to do. We’ve got the right team together, and now we move forward, and we’ll evaluate and be accountable to each other, including myself, from this point forward.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
