Nady and Marte have been traded.....

i wanted to delete this post because it has been announced that Xaiver Nady has been traded.  So i guess they did lower their asking price.  But Marte was also included in the deal.  Its two things the Rays REALLY need (RH bat that plays RF and a power LH arm in the bullpen)  the question is...who did the Rays give up if it is a trade with us?  Reid Brignac is not playing in Durham tonight but Wade Davis is....

Pirates were interested in Brignac but the Yankees were also interested in Marte.  so who knows at t his point.  but its clear that Nady and Marte HAVE been traded.  Nady was pulled in the 2nd inning and then they showed Marte in the dugout hugging his former teammates.  now neither of them are in the dugout

some people have said the only reason the Rays havent made a move for X Nady yet is that the Pirates were asking too much but now as the deadline approaches it seems that they have lowered that asking price.

something could happen this weekend.  the Rays are also seriously evaluating Rocco to see if he would be able to contribute at some point in August.

I don't think they can bank on Rocco for this season.  He's struggling in AA and it's almost August, it's a longshot.

I am waiting the Pirates game and they just pulled Nady out of the lineup for no reason (the annoucers think the deal just got done but havent said where)

im guessing it isnt to the Rays because Wade Davis made his start for Durham tonight and he was one of the names mentioned in a possible deal for X.  Nady

looks like they could of been dealt to the yankees.  if they did then its likely the yankees gave up Ian Kennedy because milkey cabrera is still playing in the yankees game

another interesting situation....Reid Brignac is not starting for the Durham Bulls tonight so i wonder if it is with the Rays.  Its weird that Wade Davis wouldnt be included though.  Maybe it was neinman if that is who the Pirates traded them to.

will be an interesting next couple of minutes.

maybe this will jump start the Rays into making a better move.

EW YORK -- According to SI.com's Jon Heyman, the Yankees have acquired outfielder Xavier Nady and reliever Damaso Marte from the Pirates for Jose Tabata, Ross Ohlendorf, Phil Coke and one other minor league prospect.

While the trade has been agreed upon, according to Heyman, nothing will become official until all six players have been granted medical clearance.

if it is to the yankees, the Rays have to do something now.  they can't hold them off forever

sign Bonds already.  whatever he is asking for a salary will be made up in ticket sales
