at Orlando Christian Prep, a high-power 1A school.  Several high-major D-I recruits on the roster, including 6'8" stud Keith Clanton.  Rumor has it that they're getting a couple of transfers, so a trip to Lakeland is probable for Reggie this March.

With a pair of guards already committed for 2009 in Shaun Noriega and Jordan Dumars, USF has shifted its sights to focus on a highly regarded central Florida post player to help round out its recruiting class. All signs point toward Stan Heath and his staff putting on a full-court press to sign Orlando Christian's Keith Clanton. ( the rest is a premium article on usf.rivals.com)

Everybody's putting the full-court press on Clanton these days - he is the real deal.  The previous OCP HC was a friend of the UCF program, and Clanton did attend a couple of our games last year - but now...

According to the Sentinel/Clanton, we have already offered, along with UCF and Miami . . .

Buddy Collings | Sentinel Staff Writer

11:33 AM EDT, July 4, 2008

The Orlando Sentinel's 2007-08 area basketball Player of the Year, 6-foot-8 forward Keith Clanton of Orlando Christian Prep, is headed to next week's Reebok All-American Camp in Philadelphia, along with two other rising seniors, Dexter Fields (6-2) of Olympia and Rodney Blount (6-0) of Ocoee.

Fields and Blount earned invites with strong performances at a Reebok event in Jacksonville last month. In his work for FloridaHoops.com, Orlando-based talent scout Rick Staudt rated Fields as the top player and Blount as the most impressive point guard at the Jacksonville stop.

Clanton said Tuesday he has scholarship offers from USF, UCF and Miami and interest from a long list of out-of-state schools.

the reggie kohn connection didn't help us land either of the studs on his last high school team... both went to UF.  hopefully it works out better this time.
