USF Women's Softball beat Penn State today 2-0 to win their pool in the USF Under Armor Invitational in Clearwater. The Bulls went 5-0 beating Maine, St. Joes, NC State, Jacksonville, and Penn State, and lost to Team USA 18-0 (just an exhibition).

The Bulls won on walk-offs three times against NC State, Maine, and Jacksonville.

Team USA didn't surrender a single run the entire tournament. At least USF last through 6 innings. Team USA hasn't lost to any countries in over 8 years, let alone a college team.

Yeah, but with Leigh Ann Ellis a few years back, the Bulls held them scoreless through 5 or 6 I think. I haven't seen stats, or read anything about it, but I would guess that Eriksen let a lot of pitchers throw. With Ellis, it was her game, he really thought we had a shot in that one. Without a dominant pitcher, there is no change to hold them down for an extended period of time.

Congrats to the ladies for a good tourney.

I don't think Team USA has given up a run all year to any college teams they have played...something like over 100+ innings.
