Newsome passed for 1200 yards and 12 touchdowns as a junior. He also ran for over 500 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.

He maxes out with a 285-pound bench, 370-pound squat and 280-pound power clean. In the classroom Newsome carries a 3.52 core GPA.

Newsome is also a track star, with a personal best of 14.1 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles and 7.5 seconds in the 55-meter hurdles, both times taken as a sophomore.

Update: Newsome won the state championship in March of 2008 for the 55-meter hurdles with a time of 7.35 seconds

How does the staff know when guys are interested in playing for the Bulls?  Especially a guy like this who is out of state.  Just curious. ??? ???

most of the time word travels around at these national camps that the top players attend each summer

what is the downside of contacting the guy,

with so many offers I would be very intrested to know why he wants USF.

and if his skills are real (which they seem to be #41 in the country) and he wants to be a bull

then by all means offer the kid...if he commits early that may help us get an even better class.

am i missing something?
