Murray gets offer from Florida

Plant junior quarterback Aaron Murray, offered a scholarship by several SEC schools so far, got another big one this weekend:

The University of Florida.

Murray was offered while on campus for Junior Day. Murray, the Class 4A Player of the Year, was in his first year starting at QB when he broke the state record for TDs in a season (51). He's received offers from many major programs, including Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn and Boston College. Among the others are Stanford, Georgia Tech and South Florida.

Murray has clearly shown he likes UF, their coaches - and their offense. He's been to about a handful UF games, he's done the Gator Walk and chalk-talked with offensive coordinator Dan Mullen. With his pass-running ability (he also racked up close to 1,000 rushing yards), Murray would likely fit into UF's system.

The highly-touted junior has said he plans to make his college choice over the summer, so that it will not take attention away from his team during next season. Murray said he'd narrow his list to five this spring before working his way to his decision. He is scheduled to graduate next December so he can enroll early at the campus of his choice.

Though he hasn't stated it, it'd be surprising if UF wasn't in that list of finalists.

Seems like a UF lean, but we need to jump on this kid . If we could get him in the summer hell probably bring a few more recruits with him .

Plant lands talented transfer

Former Riverview tight end Orson Charles has landed at Plant.

But apparently this transfer was not via special assignment.

Riverview principal Bob Heilmann told the Times on Thursday that Charles switched to Plant as a “move-in.†The 6-foot-2, 225-pound junior led the run-oriented Sharks with 16 catches for 398 yards last season.Charles is Plant’s third notable transfer in the past few weeks.

Receivers Alan Sampson (Gaither) and Eric Dungy (Indianapolis Park Tudor), son of Colts coach Tony Dungy, both recently enrolled at there.

Charles was expected to be one of Riverview’s top players next season. Sharks coach Dan O'Regan has said he has Division I-A skills. Charles not only is an excellent blocker, but has great hands.

In a loss at Plant last fall, he had one of his best

I hate to be a pesamist(sp), but i hear this kid has a hard-on for the gators. He is a UF fan at heart and it would be tough to steal this one away from the gators.
