considering the AP isn't part of the BCS formula-- yes-- it is less significant. They do award their own trophy although the NCAA no longer recognizes it as the true NC.

THe poll I wish they would remove from the BCS formula is the Coaches Poll-- it is quite possibly the most biased and unrealistic poll in the country.

The NCAA doesn't recognize any national champion in the Bowl Subdivision...

Hence the reason the call I-AA the "Championship" subdivision... and the I-AA Playoffs are called the "Division I Championship"

I agree completely with the Coaches Poll.  It's nonsense.  And they have time to watch other games other than their own?  And I'm pretty sure they think highly of a team that just beaten them by 40 or more points.  It's way too biased.

the main reason for the bias is that no one is held accountable for WHO they vote for-- the votes by the coaches are not released except for the last ballot I beleive.

Or if they must keep it, modify it so that each conference has equal representation and that the ballots are open.
