Not to make excuses.

But it really doesn't matter what we are rankedl.  It means nothing.

We just need to try to figure out a way to win the Big East -- and that starts with beating Rutgers.

I disagree.  The rankings matter at this point.  If we were still in the 15th to 20th range it wouldn't matter.  Incredibly, we are realistically in the hunt to be in the BCS championship game.

USC lost.  Cal is that much better than us?  They beat an 0-5 Colorado State team by only 6 in week 2.  BC is in the same boat we are.  They barely beat 1AA UMASS last week.

Ready or not, we are in the hunt at the highest level.  So yeah, the rankings matter.  Thinking otherwise right now is silly.

Let's not forget Cincy guys.. Undefeated, and ranked still.

Rutgers losing tonight will probably pull them out of ranking.. but Cincy is going to climb. At least we'll be home for that one.

i think the rankings matter quite a bit, because FAU wouldn't have been as fired up for this game if there were no rankings. it's HUGE. it's one of the most unique and wonderful things about college football that separate it from other sports. it's why i love this game man

They obviously have to matter at this point. We DO have realistic hopes for the NC game based on all the teams that seem to be losing every week... And what really decides who plays? Mainly the coaches poll and the harris poll... So they definitely matter if you have the highest aspirations...

Now we need a handful more to lose and we need to do our business.

Every team plays bad against a team they wouldn't expect to play bad against. We played bad against Cincinatti last year, Florida played bad against Auburn 2 years in a row, and USC played bad against Stanford. Atleast we got our bad game out against FAU and still won. The team knows they came close to being upset so they will be going into UCF pumped up ready to knock some heads off! Finish Strong!
