We always have a challenge competing with pro sports in this town, but this week is crazy. Just this week alone:

Bucs home game

Red Sox - Rays Homestand (3 games)

Yankees - Rays Homestand (3 games)

Lightning Pre-season game

That's at least 250,000 pro sports tickets used before a single usf fan goes throguh the turnstile. Still a sellout.

And all that's just in the city. Not to mention:

Gator Home game

FSU - Alabama

Upteen HS games

some major concert at some venue I'm sure

Still al sellout. Impressive.

yea, people really under estimate what pro sports teams do to our ticket sales.  in other cities there arent nearly as many sports entertainment options this time of year.  then you take into account that 75% of our alumni did not attend USF while we had a football program
