saw that. I'm still holding out hope for making a higher tier bowl (W's against Lville and WVU are still possible), but if we ultimately end up the Meineke Bowl this would be interesting. I'd rather play FSU since they aren't anywhere on our future schedules...but either way, I seriously doubt the folks in charlotte would pass over eligible carolina teams to have two teams from Florida. We could be looking at a "BCS or bust (papajohns bowl) scenario"....

I agree with you on the better bowl, but I really enjoyed myself at the Meineke.  I'd take that over the Papajohns any day.

Bowl committees generally do not like to invite the same team two years in a row if they can help it.

So I don't expect to be back in Birmingham before Christmas...

I really think our choices will be New Orleans (BCS - Sugar bowl), Charlotte (Meineke) or El Paso (Sun) ... depending on the rest of the season.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
