Volleyball Continues Road Action

TAMPA, Fla. (Sept. 6, 2007) –  For the second-straight week, the University of South Florida volleyball team hits the road to continue tournament action, traveling to Dayton, Ohio for the Wright State Raider Challenge.

The Bulls face Liberty (3-3) on Friday at 5 p.m. and will conclude action on Saturday against The Citadel (1-3) at 2 p.m. and Wright State (1-7) at 7 p.m.

USF enters the weekend with a 2-1 record, including winning its last two matches. The 2-1 start is the Bulls’ best since 2004.

The Bulls will be looking to even the series records with Wright State and Liberty. The Raiders have the edge, 2-1, over the Bulls, including winning the contest last year, 3-2, at The Corral. The Flames have won the lone meeting with USF, 3-2, back on Oct. 27, 1990 in Tampa. USF won the only match with The Citadel, defeating the Bulldogs, 3-0, on Sept. 6, 2003 in Boca Raton.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
