Sad state of affairs that they let the police department suffer...

It is in a sad state of affairs.  In fact, we in student government administration circulated a "statement of executive policy" to all administrators (including those in student affairs including Dr. Meningall who was featured in the Tampa Bay 10 video) discussing this topic in support of the police chief last year asking for at least 13 additional officers.  The student body senate has been working on the matter as well in the last year.

I promise that several meetings will be held and the matter will be discussed yet again.  The State University System of Florida Board of Governors Chancellor is well aware of the issue also.  The BOG did not get the additonal $5 million they asked for after VA tech from the legislature, but I am sure they will try to do something about.   

The Governor's Task Force has gathered info on this subject.  Dr. Genshaft, Dr. Meningall, and Chief Longo all testified before the task force.
