Just crunched some numbers, based on averages...

Looking by the values of the seasons surrounding teddy ballgames missing war seasons...

here are the #'s i came up with for him...

He has 521... the other 5 seasons would have likely turned out another approx 150...  assuming he stayed consistent, which is the term that would define williams.

So that would have been about 671... bonds would be just passed him now.

RBIs, he has 1839... i ran the averages again and he would have had another 500 if all remained statistically consistent.   That is 2339... 1st Place all time ahead of Hank Aaron's 2297.  Bonds has 1742.

Hits:  total 2654... plus the statistical calc:  855

3509...   6th place all time behind Rose, cobb, aaron, musial, speaker and one ahead of Yaz.

Bonds 2595 (70th)

Walks :  2019   stat calc:  730    total:  2749

1st all time by over 700 over Henderson and Bonds

Since it is based on averages... avg hits, avg at bats.. his BA would have remained the same for his career... hypothetically speaking... at .344 career... that is 6th all time... not even going to mention bonds' number...

Doubles   525     stat calc: 155   total   680   5th all time behind Speaker,Rose, cobb and musial.

So there you have it...

That is where Williams' # MAY have been, if he played as he was... they could have been less if he got injured, more if he had career years, which is likely since it was his prime for 3 of the missed years.

The numbers don't lie... they show the trend.  They show the #'s he sacrificed on his stats to help protect our country.

They totally Dominate Bonds in every category except Homers, and with the steroids... i don't respect Bonds' accomplishment... it is tainted, but even if it wasn't... he can't even hold WIlliams' jock.

[whisper!smazza]We all know smazza is gonna be a jock strap and post a picture of ted's head after this...

he can't see this, since it is within the whisper tag... lets see what happens  ;)

Two things. One once again, no mention of SB, which numbers are ridiculously in Bonds favor. And two, most important, BONDS ISNT DONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

you are correct, but stolen bases has nothing to do with best hitter...that is base running.

heres that stats on Stolen Bases, just to satisfy the bonds people out there...

500 SB total for bonds...

Williams had 24 stolen bases, and with the stats, probably would have had a total of 5 or 6 more so 30 total.

Bonds got most of the SB's before he got jacked up... lately he isn't stealing many, still more than Williams for sure, but he is avg about 11 per season last few years.

Bonds WAS a better baserunner from a speed standpoint.  I'll give him that.

I also forgot to mention Strikeouts...

Ted has 709...  using the adjustment, he'd have an additional 220, so 929 for his career.

Bonds has 1387 and STILL going.  :P

Yep... you got it Bullshiznits.  Stolen Bases makes someone the greatest HITTER of all time.

By that rationale, Rickey Henderson was better than Babe Ruth.

Nice going!
