i even refer to them as the rays, but that doesnt mean we should change our name to the rays.

what if the buccaneers permanently became the bucs...

we have very little tradition, but changing the name to the rays is just sloppy and takes away the little tradition we have.  I like the colors and i like the name devil rays, but if we change the name, it should be a whole new name and a whole new color scheme.  Not just rays with the main color being blue which is what i heard they are leaning to.

Personally, if there were to be a name change, i would support the red and white tampa bay Tarpons.  Tarpon are a badass fish in the bay area.  Just please dont make us "the rays"  

"the rays" sounds like freakin sunshine to me, how lame.

Although "Tarpons" brings back some great memories of Tampa baseball, I wouldn't endorse it as a name change util we get really, really good ... The fun people would have with that name if we sucked would be too easy for the simple minded.

lol, the funny thing is, a tarpon is a 200 pound fish, try and stick that up your.... ;D

but yeah, one letter off from tampon, the rest of the nation would tear us apart...i still think its a sweet ass fish though :)
