Steve use your logic and then go look at Joe Torres managerial career before he ever came to the Yanks and tell me why did they hire him? Also, please take a look at the philly teams that he managed. This is a great aqcuisition for the Sox as he is a statistical analysis/computer geek type the Red Sox covet over Grady Hunch Little whos hunches went against the numbers and usually didnt work out. The sox are paying Bill James a lot of money for his analysis so you need a guy that will use it. Also John Henry mad all his money do to a statistical program he wrote that basically told you when to buy and sell futures and it made him zillions of dollars and he is the boss.

The only reason you can even say that Boston can't beat the yankees, is because it hasn't happened in so long... but when it happens this year, you'll be eating your words, as will the whole evil empire.

The Yanks front office WAS better, but times have changed.

Red Sox front office had been a joke for years I agree. That is over as The Sox are leading the rest of sports mgt into the future. This mgt team is the best in sports and they have an owner that wants to win but wont stick his head in where it does not belong. hint hint.

Read this article on The Boss. He is back running his team without help from experts. The last time he did this the Yanks fell right off the face of the planet. He went and bought up a bunch of old has beens who's best days were behind them and it looks like he is heading right back in that direction.

Call anyone and ask them about George Steinbrenner. Larry is a hell of a president and Theo is the man. This orginization is tops in baseball right down to the bullpen attendant  that gets hiss butt kicked by a few overpaid yankee pieces of crap because he is cheering for his home team.

LOL...  Its funny that the ESPN/CNNSI reporters all think the red sox are on even ground with the yanks... but a yankees fan thinks otherwise... go figure.
