While we may giddy at signing some pretty good recruiting classes they are still not of the caliber of UCONN, Tenn etc.Similarly, if he were at Florida he could afford to hire and retain a great coaching staff to get the most out of his kids. The last three years has seen a revolving door at the assistant coaching positions.Finally, CJF is still a very young coach. In most big conference situations Jose would just start getting considered for a head coaching position. Remember when the women's program was smoldering in ashes, he was essentially given the keys to program and told "okay kid go see what you can do..." You often remark about how the men haven't gone to the NCAAs since 91-92. How many times has the women's team gone and how many Top25 recruiting classes have preceded the appearance? Now I'm not digging at Jose - but as CB says, it's all relative. I don't agree with recruiting ratings - I think it is a scam. But if you give a coach high marks for being a good recruiter he ought to win consistently and win the big ones before being anointed. I guess our expectations truly have fallen.
