Don't you mean gray shirt?

Redshirt are already on the team (I believe) although not playing their first year at USF.  Gray shirts I believe come to the school or team during the middle of the year.

I think he means once the Fr gets  here then he redshirts.Like that crop of WRs we landed last year and Hester.Grothe RSed his 1st year also.All of the LBs we landed last yr took a RS.

Greyshirting is more of a running out of scholarships situation.

The truth is, Marve was a bit scared of Grothe...he didn't think he could compete.

why would he come to usf and sit for 3 years??

He was on with Al Keck today and when asked about USF and their recruitment of Robert Marve, he said that Jim Leavitt and Carl Franks are very honest and up front with recruits. He said they do things "the right way" and that he has great respect for the program they're building and the way they're building it. He even said that even after losing Marve, that they called him and let him know that if they could ever help him in any way to let them know.

As for Marve, he said that Robert liked the coaches, how they recruited him, and everything about USF, but in the end staying home wasnt the most important thing to him.

if Ford pans out

then Jackson will be scared like marve to come to usf and compete

ford is 20 he might leave after a few years, as tampaboi says, especially if he is as good as we hope.  2 or hopefully 3 years would be great if he pans out and would give us time to develop plancher more (he could very well contribute a lot this year anyway) and find a replacement, such as jackson.
