Yesterday's WIN was huge because it proves last year's WIN over Louisville was no one time flash in the pan; We also earned respect of having a better year than FSU and Miami; because both those teams appear to be headed on the way down our in state recruiting should rise-finally;  THIS ALL ADDS UP TO RESPECT.

P.S. The Big East respects us now and next year as well..

Big East teams and coaches already respected us.  Big East fans are starting to respect us.

This win helped propel USF the way Florida State going to Nebraska and winning helped FSU.  I fully BULLieve that this team will continue to make noise next year.  I haven't looked at our opponents' attrition - but with so many starters coming back for USF, I don't think there is a team on our schedule that USF can not beat -- including Auburn.

Well, the BE fans really ought to respect us.  In our two years as a BE member we've beaten every team in the league, at least once.  WVU was the last (of the 7) to go down to the bulls.

Now, if we can just put it all together in the same season.......

But we NEED to follow this with a win in the bowl.  If we go to B'ham and face ECU or Rice or Southern Miss and crap the bed, then everyone will write this win off as luck.  Even worse, will write it off as WVU sleeping.

Respect is earned, next step in earing it is winning the bowl!

I really believed that WVU really didnt respect USF going into that game. They had articles from West Virginia basically laughing at Grothe for saying that USF has a chance to win against them. I guess Grothe proved them all wrong.  Also, Rich Rodriguez opted to try a fake FG to get the TD only to have USF stop them early in that game. As Jim Lighhthall said, it was a slap to USF's face to try that on us because they basically thought that they would win that game easily. Karma came back to bite WVU in the arse!!!!

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."

    Terry Lucas, 09/26/22
