We got taken to the woodshed by a Top 10 team in their house ... no major suprise. We didn't play very well ... small suprise with our road record.

But lets look at this season so far . . .

10-3 heading into half time.

If the season NC State is having (3-7, 2-5 ACC) doesn't show you that we were a young, first-time bowl team facing a senior ladden NC State, I don't know what will. NC State will not be bowling this year. That may not be as good as a win but it kind of explains how we were not able to win.

We played a veteran BCS team in last years bowl ... the ACC is weaker than the Big East in 2006. They suck and we became Bowl elgible weeks ago.

Our first BCS recruiting class are FR and we have just starting seeing the benefit of our better recruiting.

This program is just starting to make waves. Look across the nation and see major programs have average years and not go bowling.

We have 2 major losses in Nicholas & St. Louis ... TWO !!! And that is for the 2 Deep. And we have a great class of LB's to help fill this void and a great MLB to keep it in check.

Take off the Green & Gold glasses  ;) and realize we lost to a very good team that we were HOPING to upset.

Go BULLS !!!  :GoBulls

Prior to the season I thought we would win 7 or 8 games.

I'm not sure this team is better than last yrs team as that team beat L'ville and beat RU on the road + ucf was actually a bowl team last yr. Last yrs team also had to face UM and PSU on the road.

However, with this team being run by a freshman qb and not really having a replacement for A. Hall....i think the easy schedule has allowed us to get to 7 wins a bowl game and an extra month of practices. This will all aid in adding to next seasons success.

2006 2 Deep and other Roster Notes

- Starting QB is a Freshmen and is producing Top 10 Numbers nationally.

- Starting RB is a Freshmen and went down in Game 1 after 4 carries. #2 RB was suspended 1st 6 games.

- 2nd Leading WR is a Soph.

- O-Line started 4 Soph. & 1 Freshmen during this season.

- D-Line started Freshmen DE (that is 4th in Tackles and a leader for sacks & TFL's) Other starting DE was suspened first 6 games, and is a Soph.

Just a few bright spots to remind some that we have a great young foundation.

Go BULLS !!!

P.S. Larger donations for Season Tix can be paid QUARTERLY.

8-)

Agree ... and we have 1 tough road game in 2007, Auburn and it's OOC. Our tougher Conference games are at Home.

Pitt & Rutgers away and feel good about BOTH ... of course  8-)

Don't wanna really get into a 2007 thread, but this young team did well so far for us in 2006.

Thanks ET for bringing out the positive points. I was feeling bummed last night, but you're right. We have so much to look forward to.

I'm gonna be honest here....this season has COMPLETELY blown away my expectations. I, for one, thought our offense was in some serious trouble when Andre Hall left.  These young guys stepped up to the plate and delivered beyond my wildest imagination! I knew our D was gonna be solid, but that offense- losing so many of those stellar offensive lineman and Andre Hall- it really had me worried. These guys and the coaches have done an INCREDIBLE job! And it's only gonna get better from here!

My expectations are always HIGH !

These guys did fight through some adversity, but . . . (from another thread):

... I have to seriously reconsider if I would deem this a good year if we are below .500 in conference.

I think we are having a disappointing year . . .

- Barely winning against McNeese, FIU & UCF

- Losing to Kansas

- Losing at Home to Rutgers

- Bad play against Cincy & L'ville

Beat WVU and our Bowl will make it better, but still disappointing overall.

Go BULLS !!!  [smiley=GoBulls.gif]

THE BULLS ARE WHO I THOUGHT THEY WERE!!!!

Nah but seriously we are right about where i thought we would be record wise.  If we can relplace 1 stud LB and one more than servicable LB i think we should be pretty good.
