Larry Taylor is the Taker of Tickets. The Sultan of Stubs. Call Taylor whatever you like, but if there is an available ticket to UConn's game at South Florida this weekend, make sure you hand it over to him.

"Right now, Larry Taylor has a monopoly," Rhema Fuller said. "He made some deals behind closed doors and got all the tickets. I tried to use as many cards as possible. Fifth-year senior card. The captain card. It didn't work."

Taylor is one of 15 players on the UConn roster from the state of Florida. He starred at Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Glades Day. Fuller, who said he will have about 20 family members and friends at Saturday's game, hails from Cocoa. Fuller joked that Taylor, all of 5-foot-6 and 165 pounds, has made some back-room deals to get the most tickets for the South Florida game. Each player is allotted four. Fuller said Taylor has worked extra hard for many more this week.

Husky linebacker Donta Moore, who is probable with a broken right arm, played his high school ball at Tampa (Fla.) Blake and Carl Teague played for St. Petersburg (Fla.) Catholic. Dennis Brown (Miami), Donnell Ford (Dania), Darren McKhan (Miami), Matt Ashmead (Miami), Allan Barnes (Starke), Darius Butler (Tamarac), Cody Brown (Coral Springs), Immanuel Hutcherson (Palatka), Bobby Fry (Cocoa), Ellis Gaulden (Tallahassee) and Tony Ciaravino (Boca Raton) are all from Florida.

Moore is second on the team (behind Danny Lansanah) with 27 tackles and a team-high 7.5 for loss. Brown, a sophomore defensive end, has stepped in after Jason Ward went down with an ankle injury in the preseason and contributed. Brown has registered 19 tackles (six for loss) and he has a team-high 4.5 sacks.
