USF: A statement game

TAMPA - Just as last year's Big East opener gave USF its biggest win, a 45-14 upset of then-No. 9 Louisville, Friday night's conference opener on ESPN2 against No. 23 Rutgers gives the Bulls a national platform for a statement game.

"I feel like if we win this game, we're going to open some eyes up around America," senior tackle Thed Watson said. "We don't get a lot of respect."

Watson made his first start of the season in Saturday's loss at Kansas after missing two games with a foot injury. USF has struggled to make its running backs a regular part of the offense, but Watson said that will change Friday.

"I think we'll have our running game back this week," Watson said. "We just had to smooth some wrinkles out."

Its a huge statement game, because everyone in the nation seems to be on RU's jock for no reason...I wanted to call Sileo today because I think he wants to have gay sex with RU's coach, and ask what Sileo was going to do when USF shoves it up all of NJ's butt.

i think usf will play another hard fought game, but since we have the home field , and we are coming off a tough loss, we will be on the rebound and prove that this bull team although young has a very bright future. we will win a close won, mark my words. 10-14 usf

I'm happy everyone is talking about Rutgers... any good publicity for the conference is great.  I just hope that if we win, people open their eyes  for us rather than quit talking about Rutgers.  That is what I'm afraid will happen.  If you aren't undefeated, no one cares, at this point of the season.

USF has not lost a conference opener yet...

Someone knock on wood, sacrifice a chicken, or go to Catholic mass & lite a candle and put some awms in the poor box.  Jim, that's just not good Karma to state that.   ;)  :D
