Oh I forgot to mention.  With a UF loss, USF will be the only undefeated team in the state.  For what it's worth. ;)

_____________

They are already calling for Coker's Head in the Miami Herald...

IN MY OPINION

For Coker, it gets worse

By ISRAEL GUTIERREZ

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- It must be a bizarre feeling, experiencing a fairy tale in reverse.

Larry Coker is doing it. His story started with an enchanting ride to the national title in 2001. It ended Saturday with a gory train-wreck scene, the field covered with the blood red of Louisville as fans celebrated what was, or what seemed to be, a huge win for their program and putting the final credits on one of the most maddening and embarrassing losses in Miami's recent history.

Well, that wasn't quite the end of Coker's tale. The final scene, however, is painfully predictable: The riches-to-rags coach will be sent away, blamed for his team's shortcomings, fired for his inability to stay atop a slippery mountain for more than a few years.

It will happen, probably after this already frustrating season ends, because UM's athletic director Paul Dee is about as bitter a loser as there is in collegiate athletics.

It will happen because, for as long as it doesn't, there will be more incidents like the one that played out Saturday, when an enraged UM fan berated Dee as he walked off the field, demanding Coker be held accountable for UM's struggles.

PRECIPITOUS DROP

And as difficult as it is to say about someone as classy and likable as Coker, it should happen. It should happen because UM no longer has superior talent, making innovative coaching more necessary now than it has ever been. It should happen because even an ACC title, which is reachable despite Saturday's out-of-conference disaster, wouldn't satisfy those associated with a program with standards this high, and it's time for someone else to feel that pressure. It should happen because only the Bobby Bowdens and Joe Paternos could avoid such a fate, and most of the time a coach's tenure just has to end.

Right now, this isn't UM football. The Hurricanes are 13-8 in their past 21 games and seemingly getting worse. So Coker's backward story is about to reach the unfortunate beginning.
