After DC Jefferson's 32-yard completion to Brandon Roberts on his first pass of the game, the Blue Devils never completed another pass, and they were penalized 22 times. We capitalized on their mistakes and turnovers."The Blue Devils' confidence took a major blow when Armwood (4-1) grabbed a 14-0 lead in the first 10 minutes. The Hawks drove 80 yards to a touchdown on their first possession. Then on the first play after a Justin Williams interception, the Hawks scored on Mywan Jackson's 28-yard option pass to Deondre Kyles for a 14-0 lead."I didn't know what was going to happen at that point." Winter Haven coach Charlie Tate said. "But our defense got a turnover, the speed of the game picked up and all of a sudden we were in a football game."The game turned sharply after Winter Haven recovered Kyles ' fumble at the Armwood 22 late in the first quarter.The Blue Devils scored on the next play, then Jefferson directed a 56-yard TD drive in the second quarter, throwing a 9-yard TD pass to Chris Clay to cut the lead to 14-12. Winter Haven’s Qlmdsy Metelus rushes for a touchdown against Armwood High School in Winter Haven on Friday. Winter Haven won in overtime, 26-25. The Blue Devils (4-1) cashed in another Armwood fumble early in the fourth quarter, taking a 1914 lead on Dasmon Williams' 12yard run with 10:06 left.Armwood tied it on Darren DeRochemont's 28-yard field goal on the final play of regulation. Guest michael(Guest) Posted October 5, 2006 Share Posted October 5, 2006 D.C. is really good, just he doesn't have an O-line. he threw a pass against armwood for about 40 yards off of his back foot. he has a strong arm and is hard to bring down, he would be a very good recruit.
