gee-- we should have told Marquel not to run either--

please-- some players have a knack for running teh ball-- that was Grothe in HS and it's him in college. If you take away or limit that element, the defense can cheat a little bit and those receivers have trouble getting open in the first place.

I like the run when its a close game or early, but to continue with the QB keepers after we just went up 28-10 isn't good.

excellent point-- I can accept that. With a nice lead, pulling certain players and giving others experience at various positions is how you continue to build depth. And you can reel in the go for broke style. Especially with our defense.

I am not a big fan of the QB running all that much, but I do understand it's part of the system.

Look at WVU. They rely heavily on the run out of the spread. White only threw 14 times yesterday and they put up big numbers.

usf doesnt have a back up qb and if grothe gets hurt there goes the season

usf has a ton of speedy receivers. grotheee can deliver the ball to them for them to make plays

i think grothe throws a better ball than mb while mb was a better runner and more elusive(yes all after one game)

running 5 times a game is more than enough for the qb

dont forget he will get a chance to run on broken lays and when blocking breaks down

wv has a qb that runs first passes second.grotheee is a pas first qb run second

Take what you can get, then slide.

Blackwell had a lot of yards on the ground, and very little problem with injury.  He played a long time.

he was lucky and a better runner than grothe i suspect

usf has much more to lose these days if our qb goes out

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
