Like I said before-- moving the game would not impact me. But talking about this stupid thing for a month sure did. Just like anything with USF sports on this board-- we spend 99% of the time talking about what is going to happen in the future or responding to rumor or getting half-cocked over potential changes that we disagree with-- with no concrete evidence that something has officially changed.

Did it really affect you?  wow, you are more addicted to this board than i am ;)

to me, it doesn't matter if the subject is totally moronic, if i don't like it, i don't read it, and move on.  I can't see being affected very much by having a thread last a month about speculations... that is part of what this board is for... a place to discuss possibilities etc, not just for fact dissemination.

As I wrote in another thread on this topic previously, I didn't think that Pitt would change the date for ESPN. They just can't afford to lose to us on national TV and they certainly didn't want to play us in the afternoon heat under any circumstances.

As for me, I would have preferred having the game on ESPN as we'd make a lot more money and get the national exposure. In addition, we may have gotten the USM game on ESPN as well, as part of the deal, which would have meant even more money. I doubt that attendance would have beeen affected very much for either BIG game, and to whatever extent it was that would have been greatly offset by the TV dollars.

Hopefully, well still get the Memphis game on ESPN and we'll start discussing THAT possibility.  ;D

who?

i am curious

i promise i will not take out a contract on him

by the way the travel plans problem of pitt fans was a consideration for refusing to change the date.Seems I was right on in my reasons for  not changing game.It is simply not enough time for people that are coming from out of town and a monday afternoon game simply sucks

It aint over YET!  ;D

USF seeks date change

South Florida said it still hopes to move its Sept. 4 game against Pittsburgh to Sept. 6, Labor Day, so it can be televised by ESPN.

Pittsburgh athletic director Jeff Long said Tuesday it was not feasible. USF associate AD Tom Veit said if USF could accommodate ESPN on the Pittsburgh game, it also likely would air the Memphis game Nov. 27.
