Leavitt Pleased With Number One Defense In Final Scrimmage

TAMPA, FLA. (August 23, 2006) – USF went through a 75-play scrimmage tonight, the final one of the summer camp with the season opener just 10 days away when the Bulls meet McNeese State.

“I thought the number one defense looked really good tonight,” Leavitt said after the scrimmage. “The offense started out slow, but they picked it up as it progressed. All the quarterbacks did some good things and they all made some mistakes. But none of them made me say, ‘oh that really (stinks).’”

The team will have Thursday morning off from practice and will have a team weightlifting session at 11 a.m. In the afternoon, the squad will have a light practice at 3:45.

On Saturday, the Bulls host Fan Appreciation Day. Fans can watch the final 30 minutes of practice from 11 to 11:30 a.m. when the team works on the two-minute drill. Afterwards, coaches and players will sign autographs and pose for photos.
