Patriots re-sign cornerback Otis Smith

The Patriots signed veteran CB Otis Smith today, less than a year after the team reluctantly released him as he struggled to recover from a shoulder injury.

its fine by me... he wasn't the best playe on the team, but having a veteran will always help with the development of players like UCF's asante samuel who seems pretty good, although he did get burned a couple times (rookie mistakes).

I'm hoping they can hold on to Law, but its wide open at this point.

I love Otis Smith and he is a belicheck guy. I dont think he will be depended on much but will have some role and he will do a great job. He has been a very good player every time he has had a Pats uni on and they pay him almost nothing.

Asante was one of many rookies who played huge roles for Pats last year and asante won a game for them last year with his pick and td return.  Pats had best draft in NFL last year. They also traded a 1st rd pick for a 1st rd pick this year and have a ton of early picks to use this year.  Pats had Eugene wilson(2nd rd), Bethel Johnson(2) , dan klecko(4) asante(4), dan koppen(5) all play huge roles. #1 pick Ty Warren was good in some games but was a little slow to develop last year, 7th rd pick tully banta-cain also had a decent year and is a **** good pass rusher but does little besides that.

The perfect dailey double for all Pats fans.  I am as insulted by his arrest as he was sinsulted by the pats 35 million dollar contract offer.
