Does Akron's win hurt USF's bowl chances?

Maybe this has already been discussed.... Akron just shocked NIU to win the MAC. Does this hurt USF's chances of getting a bowl bid if we lose to West Virginia? Akron would not have gone to a bowl game had they lost tonight.

No, NIU will not go and play Akron again in the MCB and Toledo is in the GMAC already.

The MAC has quite a few bowl-eligible teams now, including NIU.

Akron's QB is awesome! They can get a QB, but we can't seem to find one here in Florida?! wtf...

That was a helluva game, and one helluva finale.  That touchdown catch was unbelievable.

There couldn't have been more than a 1000 bodies in the stands...for a championship game?!?!?

Give J.D. Brookhart and his defense credit.  Another outstanding receiver (Bryant, Fitzgerald).  Zips' off coord comes from Duke (Franks).

Either we get a rematch w/ Brookhart (3 days before 9/11/01 @ Pitt), N.C. State (who stole Mike Canales), or Clemson (where we got Rod Smith).

I must admit, I was a Zip from 95-99!   :o

Yes, Zonald was a Zip!  I was at every home football game in 95 and 96.  THEY SUCKED big time back then.  Horrible, horrible team.  The Rubber Bowl is OFF CAMPUS by about 20 miles and FREEZING cold in the winter.

Good to see they are FINALLY doing something positive.  What a difference a coach makes.

I didn't see the game, but they have had some good QB's recently.

The game was in Detroit on a Thursday night.

A bit far for Akron and Northern Illinois fans/students to travel on a school night.

Once again the fans come in last place.

The almighty TV dollar = weekday neutral site = no fans.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
